吃香蕉真的可以降血壓嗎?國外研究指出,每天三餐都吃香蕉,腦部血管阻塞的機率可因而降低21%,營養專家表示,香蕉含有豐富的鉀,可與鈉互相平衡,維持血管及血壓的穩定;但患有高血壓者仍應按時吃藥,多吃蔬果、運動,香蕉只是扮演輔助的角色。彰化基督教醫院心血管醫學防治中心主任蔡玲貞表示,人體若血液裡若鈉太高,會使得人體內水分滯留蓄積,進而導致血壓上升。香蕉富含鉀,而鉀多存於細胞內液,可與細胞外液的鈉互相平衡,調和血液及體液的酸鹼值,還可維持體內水分滲透壓穩定,有助血管及血壓的穩定。

另外,香蕉含有色胺酸,可以促進腦部神經傳導物質血清素的分泌,有助於心情的穩定。蔡玲貞指出,心情穩定,血壓相對就會比較平穩,較不易隨情緒起伏而上升。新光醫院營養師夏子雯表示,一根如芭蕉大小的香蕉約含200毫克的鉀,正常大小的香蕉則鉀含量則其2倍,吃下一根香蕉的鉀含量確實相當可觀。事實上,含鉀量高的水果不只有香蕉,包括小番茄、奇異果及哈蜜瓜等,也都富含鉀離子;此外,深綠色蔬菜的鉀含量也不低。夏子雯指出,血壓要控制得好,不能只靠吃香蕉,還是要遵守「DASH飲食」(Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension),均衡攝取蔬果及膳食纖維來控制血壓,DASH飲食在蔬菜上需要5份,水果也是5份,但水果大多很甜,可調整為2~4份,而一根正常大小的香蕉算2份,注意不要多吃了。蔡玲貞提醒,吃香蕉雖然有助降血壓,但本身有腎臟疾病的人就不宜多吃,避免鉀離子排不出去;另外,糖尿病患也不宜多吃香蕉,因為糖分很高,建議吃一小根就好了。,
