八仙樂園塵爆案發迄今2個多月，一紙無限期封園令導致其業績掛零、財務緊縮，2日驚傳八仙資遣13名員工，包含1名年資14年的管理階級，將分次發出156萬元資遣費；新北市勞工局則指出，八仙雖依法通報，仍不符解雇要件。勞工局指出，八仙上月31日口頭告知13名員工，本月1日總經理陳慧穎與13人簽署書面資遣預告通知，依法按程序預告，13人無異議，將於10、20日、30日資遣，發出156萬元資遣費。

勞工局指出，八仙今年6月投勞保人數132人，現剩51名正職員工、1名工讀生，主因員工自動請辭；遭資遣13人有管理部副理1人、餐飲部10人、客房櫃台2人，其中以47歲的鄭姓副理年資14年最久，可領43萬元資遣費。勞工局表示，八仙以歇業轉讓、業務緊縮及虧損為由裁員，據《勞動基準法》第11條第1、2、3款明訂「業者歇業或轉讓、營運虧損及不可抗力暫停工作1個月以上」，初判不符解雇要件。勞工局解釋，八仙塵爆意外不能歸責於勞方，也要求其提出財務報表認定虧損事實，但因法條未訂罰則，若勞工有異議，可協助提出勞資訴訟。至於未來是否有下一波解聘潮，八仙僅表示，付不出每月300萬元薪資，未料封園時間這麼久，盼非塵爆案發地的溫泉旅館先復業。(中國時報)，
