在大陸證監會積極出招救市下，陸股昨天終於止跌回升。中國證監會主席肖鋼目前的工作稱得上是中國最棘手的，他在去年年底用輿論引導股市上漲後，現在又必須說服投資者留在已經掉頭向下的股市。《華爾街日報》分析，要維持牛市輝煌的榮景，面臨越來越高昂的代價，而肖鋼正是這一行動的中心人物。

消息人士稱，在4日一場緊急會議上，肖鋼看起來疲憊而冷靜。他堅持向21家國資券商的負責人表示，政府有能力、有信心、有條件維持市場穩定；最後21家券商同意，向一支平準基金投資1200億元人民幣（約6000億台幣）買入藍籌股。批評人士認為，肖鋼未能有效控制中國股市規模巨大的槓桿融資行為。這種保證金融資的規模在過去1年激增4倍，截至上月，中國股市的兩融規模增至約人民幣2兆元。北京君投資本管理中心董事長、曾任中國央行官員的彭俊明表示，監管機構本應更早收緊槓桿融資規定。現在，債務規模過於龐大，成為政府難以阻止股市大跌的主要原因。自陸股大跌以來，散戶紛紛借用肖鋼在2012年接受香港鳳凰衛視採訪時所作的評論，「能夠娶到既聰明又美麗的夫人，是我一生中唯一做對的一件事。」指責肖鋼除了娶對老婆外，對市場動盪無能為力。陸股連番下跌，也危及肖鋼的烏紗帽。市場傳言肖鋼恐將下台，由中信集團董事長、素有「救火隊長」之稱的常振明接手，但已被常振明否認。春華資本集團董事長胡祖六為肖鋼叫屈。他認為，政府希望通過控制市場來刺激牛市；而公眾也希望監管機構能夠在保證他們免遭損失的同時獲得巨大收益，無論是誰「都不可能實現這兩個互相矛盾的目標。」(中國時報)，
