屏東琉球10月將舉辦首屆「海洋音樂嘉年華」，由在地十幾家民宿業者聯合舉辦，但在地鄉親反應兩極，有人認為能把小琉球觀光進入新的里程碑；但也有鄉親認為，八仙塵爆事件尚未平復，若發生意外後果難以想像。琉球在地十幾間民宿業者集資500萬經費，打造首屆「小琉球海洋音樂嘉年華」，請到樂團八三夭、MP魔幻力量等強力卡司，3日起開放售票鎖定外來客，但當地卻傳出不少反對聲浪，直呼「不要再讓琉球變得更糟！」

活動發起人陳坤宏表示，台灣人一年造訪幾次墾丁，為何許多人到琉球玩個1、2次就膩？主要原因就是活動不夠多元，浮潛的限制太多，潮間帶又承受不了這麼多的人潮，因此才有音樂季的想法。陳坤宏強調，近期音樂季的負面新聞太多，但他保證琉球的音樂季只有最單純的「音樂」，不會有過多的特效，只是輕鬆的隨著音樂起舞。屆時場邊的救護設施會相當全面，主辦單位也有接駁專車，預防酒駕事故的發生。活動從無到有本來就會有正反兩面的聲音，也是他們進步的重要參考。(中國時報)，
