苗栗市區主要道路的路邊停車格，1日起採取收費管理，新措施實施首日，市區停車不再一位難求，不過因路邊停車格未提供月租服務，也引起居民抱怨不夠便民。同樣有停車問的題的頭份及竹南地區，也評估打算跟進。苗栗市除先前已實施收費的第一和北苗市場停車場外，路邊一直維持免費停車，也因而造成住戶、商家或部分宣傳車輛，長期占用停車格，反造成洽公、購物民眾需要停車空間時，卻一位難求，招致民怨。

苗栗市區主要道路的路邊停車格，1日起採取收費管理，新措施實施首日，市區停車不再一位難求，不過因路邊停車格未提供月租服務，也引起居民抱怨不夠便民。同樣有停車問的題的頭份及竹南地區，也評估打算跟進。苗栗市除先前已實施收費的第一和北苗市場停車場外，路邊一直維持免費停車，也因而造成住戶、商家或部分宣傳車輛，長期占用停車格，反造成洽公、購物民眾需要停車空間時，卻一位難求，招致民怨。

市公所評估時機成熟，收費管理計畫獲縣府審核通過，昨日開始採收費管理。目前全市有1677個停車格，路邊停車格，車主昨天上午紛紛將愛車開離，留下許多停車空間，有別於昔日停滿車輛的景象。昨天前往苗栗市中正路金融機構附近洽公的民眾，意外發現車位不再一位難求，表示支持這項收費管理措施。不過，部分有長時間需求停車空間的民眾，因為無法辦理月租方式，感到不便而頗有怨言。配合收費管理，警局相關單位也加強取締違規停車。(中國時報)，
